五一红军运动会
1936年5月1日，红军总部在炉霍寿宁寺外大草坪上举办“五一红军运动会”，朱德总司令代表总部讲话并检阅分列式。运动会为期三天，朱德亲自担任裁判，许世友获体能比赛第一名。这是红军长征途中举行的唯一一次综合性运动会，除开展了军事技能赛外，还增设有烧牛粪等野外实用性技能赛。

May 1st Red Army Sports Day
On May 1st, 1936, the Red Army headquarters held the "May 1st Red Army Games" on the prairie outside Shouning Temple in Luhuo. On behalf of the headquarters, Commander-in-Chief Zhu De delivered a speech and reviewed the parade. Zhu De personally served as a judge of the Games that lasted three days and Xu Shiyou got the first place in the physical competition.This was the only comprehensive sports meet held during the Long March, featuring not only military skill contests but also practical outdoor skills contests such as burning cow dung.
